The Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission was founded in April 2003 as a service provided through Fomento de San Sebastián and the City Hall to support, foment and promote the film and audiovisual industry as a whole . In order to carry out this work, we collaborate with the International Film Festival, the Production Associations EPE-APV and IBAIA, the Entertainment and Tourism Centre and Media Antena Euskal Herria. Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission is affiliated with Spain Film Commission (SFC) and the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI).
The Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission wishes to make available to film, television and advertising producers a full range of personalised services aimed at shooting films and television programmes.
• Administrative services : the Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission works to make filming in the city's streets, buildings and parks easy by taking care of municipal filming permits and authorisations. The Film Commission also acts as a point of contact for other organisations and public administrations in the area.
• Information–Management Services : We will provide producers with the information they need for their film-related tasks.

Because all services offered by the Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission are free, companies and professionals are asked to mention the Film Commission's collaboration in the press book and production credits. Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission is also authorised to use film posters and other promotional formats that may be of interest as part of their promotional products.
The 2005 municipal ordinances have been modified following a suggestion made by the Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission. These changes stipulate that production companies and businesses managing municipal permits through the Film Commission will not have to pay any fees for filming-related activities such as occupation of public roads, reservation of parking spaces, etc. The new regulation is not applied to finance-related issues.
In summary, the Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission was created to make San Sebastian a friendly city for shooting films and provide production companies with all the services they need to make their job easier.
