The silhouette of the cathedrals presides over the Salamanca sky and its interior displays the life and the history of the city and its citizens. They constitute another historical complex - artistic par excellence, as both structures - the Old Cathedral and the New Cathedral - stand side-by-side.
The New Cathedral, which is Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque, was born out of the previous one. The Old one, which is Romanesque, stands in perfect harmony with it, making it even more beautiful. Out of the intimate silence of the Old one, the desire for dialogue iwith God is born, the sense of belonging to a community. In the grandiosidad of the New one, which was designed for magnificent rituals, man's littleness and the complexity of the world can be felt.

At the present time, thanks to the tourist policies carried out in the city, visits to the inside of the Towers of the Cathedral supplement the cathedral complex and make it even more spectacular. From the top of the towers we get different views toward the interior of both cathedrals and we can get an excellent panoramic view of the city from the terraces |
